Petrol Increase: Part 3

I personally solute Bedol for his 'right' decision to increase petrol price. We all Malaysian really 'support' you la Bedol especially for voters from Kepala Batas coz giving their mandate to Bedol to continue his 'agenda'.  I think they all like 'sudah kena ubat pelali' by Bedol, that's why people in Kepala Batas love him so much. If they still want to have Bedol, it's OK, let's continue and I'm really sure this time not even BN will lost 2/3 majority, but it will suffer total lost if the current situation continue as is.

I noticed there are few common reasons which Bedol always used to answer to the reporters on why the Government should increase the oil prices:

(Old scripts)

1. Kenaikan minyak masih rendah berbanding mana2 pun negara ASEAN especially Singapore.
2. Kerajaan akan pastikan kenaikan tidak membebankan
3. Kerajaan tidak mampu lagi menampung subsidi.
4. Kerajaan memberi jaminan harga runcit petroleum tidak akan dinaikkan lagi pada TAHUN INI.

(Current and future scripts)

1. Rakyat mestilah mengamalkan hidup jimat cermat.
2. Kita akan memastikan harga bahan api antara yg terendah di rantau ini berbanding
    Singapura dan Thailand.
3. Bila kita susah, kenalah sama-sama susah, bila masa senang, 'kita saling membantu'.
4. Penjimatan subsidi RM13.7 billion 'dipulangkan balik pada rakyat'.
5. Langkah ini adalah 'situasi menang-menang'.

For comparison, here are the oil prices movement during Mahathir and Bedol :

Mahathir's era:
before 90's - RM 0.89
Year 1990   - RM 1.10 (increased by RM 0.21)
01.10.2000        - RM 1.20 (increased by RM 0.10)
20.10.2001        - RM 1.30 (increased by RM 0.10)
01.05.2002        - RM 1.32 (increased by RM 0.02)
31.10.2002        - RM 1.33 (increased by RM 0.01)
01.03.2003        - RM 1.35 (increased by RM 0.02)
Total oil price increases = RM 0.46 (over 13 years period)

Bedol's era
01.05.2004  - RM 1.37 (increased by RM 0.02)
01.10.2004       - RM 1.42 (increased by RM 0.05)
05.05.2005 - RM 1.52 (increased by RM 0.10)
31.07.2005 - RM 1.62 (increased by RM 0.10)
28.02.2006 - RM 1.92 (increased by RM 0.30)
05.06.2008       - RM 2.70 (increased by RM 0.78)
